Nick Serino is an up and coming actor from Thunder Bay who recently won a Canadian Screen Award (the Canadian Oscar’s equivalent) for his scene stealing turn in Sleeping Giant. Nick was very kind to grant an interview. I sadly didn’t get to see Sleeping Giant at the Toronto International Film Festival but I righted this […]
The Nice Guys – Supreme Comedy Noir
By: Daniel Chadwick-Shubat Shane Black is a fantastic writer. For me that is a fact that is undeniable. With the likes of Lethal Weapon, The Last Action Hero and The Long Kiss Goodnight all being penned by Black. But it wasn’t until Kiss Kiss Bang Bang that Black showed his directorial prowess as well. With The Nice Guys he has once again captured […]
High-Rise – A High Octane, Gory Experience
By: Daniel Chadwick-Shubat High-Rise is the typical Ben Wheatley movie. Captain America: Civil War – The Godfather of Superhero Movies
By: Daniel Chadwick-Shubat “Compromise where you can. Where you can’t, don’t. Even if everyone is telling you that something wrong is something right. Even if the whole world is telling you to move, it is your duty to plant yourself like a tree, look them in the eye, and say ‘No, you move!’.” Who knew […]
Classic Review: ’71 (2014)
By: Daniel Chadwick-Shubat In October of 2014 I ventured to the cinema in the UK (I was there on an exchange program). ’71 was a movie I had been following closely for months for two reasons. One it had one of the hottest new young actors in it in the form of Jack O’Connell. Secondly […]
Ranking Movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
By: Daniel Chadwick-Shubat Ranking your favourite Marvel movies is an impossible task. They create so much fun and exciting content that it’s impossible to narrow it down. But I like making the impossible possible. So here’s my attempt at not pissing off all Marvel fans and putting together my favourite Marvel movies up to now (it […]
Classic Review: Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
By: Daniel Chadwick-Shubat From the moment Captain America kicked someone off a ship you knew this wouldn’t be a typical Marvel movie. As of late Marvel had been struggling with superhero movie fatigue and Marvel projects like Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D were not up to the standard that Marvel had established […]
