May 25, 2016 – Toronto, Ontario – It was announced today that D Films Corp. have acquired exclusive Canadian rights in all media to Under the Silver Lake, the highly anticipated third feature film from David Robert Mitchell (It Follows, Myth of the American Sleepover). Having recently announced the casting of Andrew Garfield (The Social Network and The Amazing Spider-Man) and Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey), the film is scheduled to begin shooting this summer.
Under the Silver Lake is based on an original screenplay by Mitchell and is described as a modern noir crime thriller set in Los Angeles. It is produced by Michael De Luca, alongside Chris Bender and Adele Romanski. The film has been acquired by A24 for distribution in the United States.
“I was absolutely blown away by the Under the Silver Lake script,” said Michael Robson, SVP of Acquisitions and Business Development for D Films. “David Robert Mitchell is an exciting, original filmmaker and I can’t wait to see what he has next for us.”
